1. To prepare utility consumption charts.
2. To prepare capacity and cycle time analysis for various utilities factory steam, chilled water, cooling water, compressed air, fuel, potable water, soft water, purified water, Water for Injection (WFI), pure steam (PS), etc.
3. To calculate utility consumption for the respective pharmaceutical facilities.
4. To design all utility piping systems, including pipe sizing, pump sizing and utility equipment sizing.
5. To prepare utility layouts, including user point locations, and utility pipe routes.
6. To prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) calculations.
7. To prepare general utility electrical loads.
8. To send inquiries and obtain quotations for various utility equipment and components as per design requirements.
9. To prepare budgetary costing.
10. To prepare technical specifications for utility and process equipment.
11. To verify BOQs from clients and prepare a query list on the same.
12. To discuss technical requirements and commercial offers with vendors.

1. Ability to perform utility calculations and equipment sizing/selection based on process requirements and engineering design criteria.
2. Good communication, interpersonal, and convincing skills.
3. Self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
5. Good negotiation skills.
6. Good planning, prioritization, and work management skills.
Knowledge:
1. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to work independently.
2. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and equivalent software.
3. Awareness of utility equipment types, specifications and selection criteria.
4. Knowledge of major utility and process equipment, their components, and associated vendors or manufacturers.
5. Knowledge of piping systems, fittings, valves, instrumentation, applicable codes and industry standards.
6. Basic understanding of pharmaceutical utility systems such as Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), Clean Steam/Pure Steam, Compressed Air, and HVAC utilities.
Preferred Knowledge:
1. Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in relation to utility and process systems.
2. Basic understanding of pharmaceutical process flows.
3. Exposure to drafting and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for utility and process equipment.
