Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented candidate to support optical and opto-mechanical assembly activities
The role is ideal for early-career professionals who have a basic understanding in optics and are interested in hands-on assembly, alignment, and testing of optical components and systems

An optics background with exposure to practical lab work or projects in optical systems is required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly of optical and opto-mechanical components
- Aligning lasers, gratings, mirrors, and detectors to achieve precise spatial resolution
- Diagnosing and repairing issues with laser stability, fibre optics, and motorized stages
- Conducting routine checks, cleaning optics, and replacing consumables to prevent instrument downtime
- Assist in optical alignment of systems using standard tools and instruments
- Support testing and basic characterization of optical assemblies
- Follow documented assembly procedures, drawings, and work instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and adherence to optical lab standards
- Identify, report, and help troubleshoot basic assembly or alignment issues
- Assist in documentation of assembly processes, test results, and observations
- Collaborate with senior engineers, RD, and quality teams as required
Required Qualifications
- M
Sc
/M TECH in Instrumentation/ Applied Physics/ Material Science/ Nanotechnology/ Laser Physics/ Optics/ Photonics or closely related discipline - B TECH in Engineering Physics or closely related discipline
- 1 3 years of experience in laser/optics/opto-mechanical assemblies
- Strong academic exposure to optics and basic laboratory practices is required
Required Skills Knowledge
- Familiarity with optical components and setups
- Good observational and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills (MS office, or similar tools)
Soft Skills
- High attention to detail and patience for precision work
- Willingness to learn and follow structured processes
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and lab discipline
