About Us
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of NTPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation, and POWERGRID Corporation of India Limited, is dedicated to unlocking India's energy efficiency potential. EESL empowers consumers, industries, and governments to manage energy needs effectively through energy-efficient technologies and solutions. This work is critical for India to reduce carbon emissions and meet its climate change goals. EESL acts as a key implementer of several national programs focused on energy efficiency, driving market transformation through innovative business models, aggregation of demand, and strategic partnerships. These initiatives include the Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme, which has distributed millions of LED bulbs across the country, significantly reducing energy consumption and electricity bills for households. Another key program is the Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP), which replaces conventional streetlights with energy-efficient LED lights, enhancing public safety and reducing municipal energy expenses. EESL also promotes energy efficiency in buildings through its Building Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP), focusing on retrofitting existing buildings with energy-efficient technologies like efficient chillers, LED lighting, and smart controls. Furthermore, EESL is actively involved in promoting electric mobility in India, supporting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) through various initiatives, including the deployment of EV charging infrastructure and the procurement of EVs for government use. By implementing these diverse programs, EESL significantly contributes to India's sustainable development agenda, fostering economic growth while minimizing environmental impact and promoting energy security. Through continuous innovation and commitment to energy efficiency, EESL strives to create a greener and more sustainable future for India.
