Role: Employee Grievance - Consultant
Location: Bangalore/Mumbai
What you will do:
The Employee Relations specialists will facilitate and manage employee relations on behalf of the company. Responsible for advising and consulting business unit management, HR, and employees on various employee relations issues, including employment law, employee counseling, violations of policy, progressive discipline, involuntary terminations, interpretation and administration of corporate human resources policies and procedures. Responsible for identifying, analyzing, avoiding, and resolving employee relations problems via investigative, committee and project work.
- Provide coaching/consulting/support and interpretation of Employee Relations (ER) policies, standards and procedures to Team Members, Leaders and HR Business Partners
- Provide consulting services to HRBPs on managing disciplinary matters and escalated cases. Provide strategic consultative services to various internal stakeholders on specific change management and culture-related issues
- Manage and track ER cases from initiation to resolution. Advise relevant stakeholders of the progress, closures and on associated risks
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of ER/HR policies, standards, procedures and guidelines in accordance with company standards and in ensuring relevance to local culture, labour laws, and practices
- Engaging HRBPs, employees and line management in awareness and training programs of employee relations matters including POSH
- Provide consultation and support to other committees (such as Whistle-blower and IC) with ensuring processes and protocols for situations related to allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, regulatory requirements or other violations of company ethics
- Ensuring 100% legal compliance w.r.t labour laws and statues. Formulate and implement the legal compliance management policies, procedures and standards
- Drive the employee assistance and wellness program. Partner with key stakeholders to conduct suitable workshops/sessions/interventions
Who you are:
- Must have a thorough understanding of employee grievance resolution, investigative methods, organization HR policy and practices
- Must be thoroughly familiar with labour laws - central and state laws and practices
- Requires a thorough understanding of management standards and principles.
- HR experience and expertise gained from working in an employee relations function or an HR department with a strong ER element to the role
- Ability to carefully listen, probe and analyse data accompanied with sound judgement that meets organization and employee objectives
- Ability to build relationships throughout the organisation to develop partnering with various parts of the organisation to help resolve employee complex enquiries/issues
- Ability to assess risk (esp. legal exposure) in employee issues and gain appropriate support/action
- Ability to manage and prioritize activities whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to operate independently on own initiative
- Full time master’s degree in Human Resources for institutes of good repute.
- Strong project management skills and able to demonstrate experience of managing complex HR projects through a complete project life-cycle
- Significant strategic HR Business Partnering experience, including managing complex business change
- Self-starter with a drive to make things happen at pace
- Strong emotional intelligence, listening, influencing and coaching skills
- Resilience, strong stakeholder and influencing skills
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
