Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities at the project site and ensuring compliance with statutory and client-specific safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legislation, statutory requirements, and client safety standards.
  • Monitor day-to-day safety activities at the project site.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/JSA) for ongoing work activities.
  • Coordinate with project management, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives regarding EHS requirements.
  • Conduct Tool Box Talks (TBT), Safety Induction Programs, Job-Specific Safety Trainings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Carry out routine Safety Observations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct internal safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare detailed investigation reports with CAPA.
  • Maintain all statutory records, EHS documentation, inspection reports, permits, and safety registers.
  • Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness programs and emergency mock drills.
  • Organize EHS committee meetings and prepare periodic safety performance reports.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Promote continuous improvement in the site's safety culture.

Educational Qualification

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
  • Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) Preferred
  • Additional safety certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 2–7 Years of relevant experience in Environment, Health & Safety.
  • Experience in Engineering, Automobile, Manufacturing, Construction, Fabrication, Renewable Energy, or Industrial Projects will be preferred.

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge of Industrial Safety practices.
  • Understanding of statutory EHS compliance and Indian safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Factories Act
    • BOCW Act
    • Industrial Safety Standards
    • OSHA/NFPA standards (preferred)
  • Experience in:
    • HIRA / JSA
    • Incident Investigation
    • Safety Audits
    • Permit to Work (PTW)
    • Emergency Response
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in:
    • MS Excel
    • MS Word
    • MS PowerPoint
    • Outlook
