Director/Senior Director of Engineering

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director/Senior Director of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering efforts for cutting-edge SaaS products. This pivotal role requires a proven leader with extensive experience in building SaaS solutions, scaling engineering teams in India, and collaborating seamlessly with US headquarters. The ideal candidate will drive technical vision, engineering strategy, and foster a culture of innovation and high performance.

Engineering Leadership & Strategy:

Define and execute the technical vision and strategy for SaaS products, aligning with business goals.

Drive architecture, design, and development of scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native applications.

Champion best practices in agile development, CI/CD, test automation, and engineering efficiency.

Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance product capabilities.

AI-First Approach & Tooling:

Promote AI-first mindset across the engineering organization.

Evaluate, implement, and drive adoption of AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Vercel AI).

Leverage AI for automated code generation, intelligent debugging, and performance optimization.

Stay updated on AI/ML advancements to strategically integrate into engineering workflows.

Team Building & Management:

Recruit, hire, and onboard top-tier engineering talent in India.

Mentor and develop engineers at all levels, fostering continuous learning and growth.

Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and maintain accountability.

Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture.

Cross-Geo Collaboration:

Collaborate with US-based product, engineering, and leadership teams for alignment and execution.

Bridge geographical and cultural differences, strengthening India-US collaboration.

Participate in global engineering leadership discussions and strategic decision-making.

Engineering Execution & KPIs:

Establish and monitor KPIs for engineering productivity, quality, and delivery.

Ensure timely project delivery, maintaining high-quality standards.

Implement processes for incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Identify and mitigate technical risks proactively.

Technical Expertise:

Provide hands-on guidance, making informed architectural and technical decisions.

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in AWS and Azure.

Maintain strong technical proficiency in Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

15+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with 5+ years in Director/Senior Director roles.

Proven ability to hire, scale, and manage India-based engineering teams.

Experience working collaboratively with US-based headquarters.

Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, and cloud-native development.

Expertise in AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.

Deep technical proficiency in Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.

Proven experience integrating AI tools (Cursor, Vercel AI, or similar) for engineering efficiency.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Data-driven approach to performance measurement and KPIs.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience with Kafka, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes.

Background in startup or high-growth environments.

Experience in MLOps or integrating ML models into production systems.

Prior experience building a Billing system is a plus.,
