With expertise in space-based detection, tracking, identification, and monitoring, We provide comprehensive domain awareness, enabling end-users to gain actionable intelligence on a single platform, At the core of our infrastructure lies a sophisticated integration of hardware and software capabilities aligned with the key principles of situational awareness: perception (data collection), comprehension (data processing), and prediction (analytics), We are looking to hire a Director of Software Engineering to lead the development of our mission control software (web application) that is responsible for 1) command and control of all our hardware (satellites and ground sensors) 2) collect data and conduct advanced analytics 3) deliver final insights to defence user as advanced visualization (2D/3D/AR/VR) and customizable reports, Why Us?

You will have all the good stuff that comes with it, Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should have:
Led a team of around 50 engineers comprising of engineers, engineering managers and at least one principal engineer, Experience of at least one complete product life cycle while working alongside a Director of Product, Whom We Are Not Looking
A completely hands-off manager who cannot work without a team or does not know what their team is doing, Responsibilities
System implementation: Always have the holistic view of how the entire system(s) fit together, Lead the team: Recruit and retain a strong team of engineers, engineering managers and principal engineers
Ensure skill of every employee is continuously improved, Own the architecture: Ensure that the architecture is always capable of delivering the functionality, scalability, reliability, security, advanced visualization & performance, End-to-end ownership: Architecture, engineering, quality, site operations, site security, release management, delivery management, Delivery management: Have a clear strategy for managing technical debt and ensure that we deliver rapidly, reliably and repeatedly, Product focus: Participate in product discovery and create an environment for rapid prototyping (alias, fail fast), Strategic enabler: Remove technology as a barrier and broaden the art of what is possible for the company, Deployment: Ensure that we are able to deploy on AWS & offline environments, Requirements
Should have led a team of 35 and knows what doesn’t work in an org structure, Experienced in identifying and recruiting potential talent, Proven ability to build skills of the team
Exploit their strength and work on their weakness, Proficient in retaining a strong team – retention & performance management, Knows how to handle a principal engineer of similar experience, Has handled compliances of product, Preferred Qualities
Should have successfully worked with a director of product, Should have solved for delivery management at scale, Should have experience working with a director of hardware or director of data science, Has had a principal engineer senior to him report to him, Has a track record of identifying and removing obstacles, Understand how to make rapid prototypes and fail fast, Setup up processes to transition experimental code by data scientists to production ready code, General Requirements
Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment
Ability to think critically and make independent decisions
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Writing and delivering technical documents and briefings
Verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills
Travel occasionally as necessary
