DevOps/Release Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Release Engineering Leader to own and transform our end-to-end software delivery lifecycle across multiple products and teams. This role will build a standardized, scalable, and automated release platform using modern GitOps and DevOps practices, enabling teams to deliver software faster, more reliably, and with minimal friction.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role focused on platform building, automation, and organization-wide enablementnot release coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement GitOps practices and deployment strategies
• Architect and standardize CI/CD pipelines across teams
• Build reusable pipeline templates and shared workflows
• Establish release processes, versioning standards, and deployment strategies
• Implement progressive delivery models (blue-green, canary) and automated rollback mechanisms
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code adoption and automate environment provisioning
• Design and enable ephemeral and on-demand environments
• Integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting into the release lifecycle
• Define and track SLIs/SLOs and implement release quality gates
• Embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
• Build self-service deployment platforms and developer “golden paths”
• Partner with engineering teams to drive adoption of standardized practices
• Provide training, documentation, and internal consulting
• Continuously improve release efficiency, reliability, and developer experience

Required Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or release engineering
• Proven experience building and scaling CI/CD platforms across multiple teams
• Strong experience with GitOps methodologies and practices
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments
• Strong expertise in CI/CD tools and pipeline architecture
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, or equivalent)
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in microservices and distributed systems architectures
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
• Experience building internal developer platforms
• Multi-cloud or hybrid cloud experience

What We Are Not Looking For

• Release coordinators focused only on scheduling and tracking
• Candidates with only basic CI/CD exposure
• Profiles lacking hands-on engineering depth
