Job Description
Role:
We are seeking a DevOps Lead to drive and mature our DevOps engineering practice across cloud-hosted client engagements. This role will be responsible for designing and operating infrastructure-as-code pipelines, container orchestration platforms, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps practices on AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cloud-native infrastructure, hands-on Kubernetes expertise, and a security-first mindset paired with the leadership skills to guide cross-functional delivery teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and AWS CDK across AWS and Azure environments.
- Build and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS / AKS) including deployment pipelines, auto-scaling, service mesh, and observability tooling.
- Architect and operate CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) that enable rapid, reliable software delivery.
- Embed DevSecOps practices across the SDLC — including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, and compliance-as-code.
- Define and enforce cloud governance standards: networking, IAM, cost management, and tagging policies across multi-account environments.
- Lead infrastructure reliability initiatives including monitoring, alerting, SLO/SLA tracking, and incident response using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to champion platform-engineering principles and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
- Establish and document runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and operational standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on DevOps tooling, practices, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Evaluate and introduce new tooling and approaches to continuously improve delivery velocity and platform resilience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of hands-on DevOps / infrastructure engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform; experience with AWS CDK is a plus.
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes — cluster management, Helm, operators, networking, and production operations on EKS and/or AKS.
- Solid CI/CD pipeline design and implementation experience using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure — including compute, networking, IAM, storage, managed Kubernetes, and serverless services.
- Demonstrated DevSecOps practice: secret management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), container image scanning, policy enforcement (OPA/Gatekeeper), and audit logging.
- Experience with observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/EFK, or CloudWatch.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: VPC design, DNS, load balancing, service mesh (Istio or Linkerd).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to work with distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end observability solutions covering metrics, distributed tracing, and log aggregation across cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with IT and cloud security best practices including identity and access management, network security controls, data protection, and regulatory compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and scale App and ML workloads on cloud platforms, including GPU-optimized compute, model serving infrastructure, and cost-efficient resource orchestration.
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or CKA / CKAD.
