DevOps Lead

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and management of scalable, secure and highly available DevOps infrastructure and platforms.
• Define and execute the overall DevOps strategy, roadmap, standards and best practices across engineering teams.
• Lead cloud infrastructure initiatives across AWS, Azure or GCP environments.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, safer and more reliable software delivery.
• Implement and manage Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Drive automation of infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, configuration management and operational processes.
• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, observability and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK and cloud-native monitoring platforms.
• Implement and improve DevSecOps practices, including security scanning, IAM, vulnerability management and secrets management.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, reliability and performance of production infrastructure.
• Lead cloud migration, infrastructure modernization and platform transformation initiatives.
• Establish disaster recovery, backup, business continuity and fault-tolerance strategies.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and cloud usage and drive cost optimization and capacity planning initiatives.
• Lead incident management, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for critical production issues.
• Establish operational standards around SRE, SLIs, SLOs, SLAs and reliability engineering.
• Collaborate with software engineering, security, architecture and product teams to integrate DevOps practices throughout the SDLC.
• Evaluate new DevOps, cloud-native and automation technologies and recommend solutions that improve engineering productivity.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures and DevOps standards.
• Mentor DevOps, cloud and infrastructure engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Manage DevOps projects, timelines, technical dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
• Continuously improve deployment frequency, system reliability, operational efficiency and developer experience.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and enterprise cloud environments.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Experience implementing GitOps, Helm, ArgoCD and automated deployment workflows.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, Bash, Python, PowerShell and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch or similar monitoring and observability tools.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, IAM, cloud security, vulnerability management and secrets management.
• Proven experience designing highly available, scalable and resilient production environments.
• Experience with cloud migration, infrastructure modernization and platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, incident management, root-cause analysis and disaster recovery.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization, capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead DevOps initiatives and mentor engineers across development and operations teams.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.
• AWS, Azure or GCP certifications are preferred.
• CKA/CKAD, Terraform or DevOps certifications are advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
