Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer / Lead DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote

Experience Required:
- 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 5+ years in AWS cloud infrastructure and production Kubernetes environments.
- Role Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer / Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate our cloud-native platform ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, enterprise Kubernetes platforms, observability, and security practices.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience owning and evolving production environments, driving infrastructure automation, and collaborating closely with application teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Platform & Infrastructure Ownership
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-scale AWS infrastructure.
- Own the architecture, deployment, and operational management of services including:
- Amazon EKS
- EC2
- RDS
- VPC
- Transit Gateway
- Site-to-Site VPN
- IAM
- AWS WAF
- AWS KMS
- Route 53
- CloudFront
- Define and enforce infrastructure standards, security controls, and best practices.
- Optimize cloud resources for availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Kubernetes Platform Engineering
- Design, build, and operate multi-tenant Kubernetes environments in production.
- Manage and enhance Kubernetes clusters with a focus on scalability, resilience, and security.
- Implement and maintain solutions such as:
- Karpenter for node provisioning and autoscaling
- Calico for networking and network security policies
- Kyverno for policy management and governance
- Rook Ceph for persistent storage management
- Establish platform standards and operational procedures for Kubernetes environments.
GitOps and CI/CD
- Develop and maintain GitOps-driven deployment practices.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using:
- ArgoCD
- GitLab CI
- Improve release automation, deployment reliability, and change management processes.
Observability and Reliability Engineering
- Build and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting frameworks.
- Implement and support observability solutions using:
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Loki
- Thanos
- Datadog
- Dynatrace
- AWS CloudWatch
- Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs), alerting standards, and operational dashboards.
- Participate in incident response activities and lead post-incident reviews.
Security and Compliance
- Embed security best practices across infrastructure and platform components.
- Implement and manage security controls using:
- Wazuh
- Sysdig
- Kyverno
- IAM policies
- Kubernetes network policies
- Partner with security teams to address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Drive continuous improvement in cloud and container security posture.
Incident Management and Application Support
- Lead major incident response and restoration efforts.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Work closely with application, development, and operations teams to resolve production issues.
- Act as a bridge between infrastructure and application teams to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.
Innovation and Emerging Technologies (Good to Have)
- Evaluate and support AI/LLM initiatives within the platform ecosystem.
- Contribute to:
- OpenShift-based LLM deployments
- Wazuh-LLM integrations
- Chatbot enablement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies to improve operational outcomes.
Required Skills and Experience
Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong expertise in AWS services, including EKS, EC2, RDS, VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, IAM, WAF, KMS, Route 53, and CloudFront.
- Proven experience designing and owning cloud infrastructure architectures.
Container Platforms
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and operations.
- Experience managing production-grade, multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Karpenter, Calico, Kyverno, and Rook Ceph.
DevOps and Automation
- Experience implementing GitOps practices using ArgoCD.
- Strong knowledge of GitLab CI and CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and automation frameworks.
Monitoring and Incident Management
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Thanos, Datadog, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch.
- Proven ability to manage incidents, perform RCAs, and drive service improvements.
Security
- Strong understanding of cloud and Kubernetes security principles.
- Experience with Wazuh, Sysdig, IAM governance, and network policy implementation.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, etc.).
- Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKS.
- Experience with OpenShift platforms.
- Exposure to AI/LLM deployments and integrations.
