Key Responsibilities:

Automation : Automating repetitive tasks like deployment, configuration, monitoring, and infrastructure provisioning.
CI/CD : Building and maintaining Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to ensure smooth and fast deployment of code changes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to manage infrastructure through code.
Monitoring & Logging : Setting up systems to monitor the health and performance of applications and infrastructure (e.g., using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Collaboration : Collaborating between development teams and IT operations to ensure smooth communication and understanding of each others needs.
Cloud Services : Managing cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Skills Required:

Programming/Scripting : Knowledge of languages like Python, Bash, or Go for writing automation scripts.
Version Control : Proficiency with tools like Git.
Containerization and Orchestration : Experience with Docker and Kubernetes to containerize applications and manage their deployments.
CI/CD Tools : Familiarity with Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI, etc., for building and automating pipelines.
Infrastructure Tools : Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure.
Cloud Platforms : AWS, Azure, or GCP knowledge to provision and manage cloud resources.
Networking & Security : Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security practices.
