Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead implementation of plant-level HSE strategy aligned with corporate directives.
  • Drive Green Pathway implementation to enhance safety maturity.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership engagement and behavior-based safety initiatives.
Safety Performance & KPIs
  • Own and drive reduction in Reportable Incident Rate (RIR).
  • Implement and scale Hazards Made Safe (HMS) initiatives across the plant.
  • Monitor leading and lagging indicators and ensure timely corrective actions.
Contractor Safety Management
  • Implement and strengthen the Contractor Workmen Safety Program.
  • Ensure 100% compliance of contractor Safety Passport system, onboarding, and training.
  • Conduct contractor safety audits and performance reviews.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Lead risk assessments (HIRA/JSA) and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Factories Act, Pollution norms, etc.) and internal standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and support audits/inspections.
Incident Management
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
  • Share learnings and best practices across locations.
Training & Capability Building
  • Develop and implement HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Build competency across all levels for safe operations.
Emergency Preparedness
  • Ensure readiness through fire safety systems, mock drills, and emergency response infrastructure.
KPIs / KRAs
  • Reportable Incident Rate (RIR):
  • HMS (Hazards Made Safe): Minimum 4 per employee per year
  • Contractor Workmen Safety Program: 100% Safety Passport compliance
  • Green Pathway Implementation: 50% by 2026 & 90% by 2027
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Engineering / Science
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory)
  • 8 12 years of HSE experience in manufacturing
Key Skills
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management
  • Data-driven safety performance management (RIR, HMS)
  • Contractor safety expertise
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
