Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced DBT/Snowflake Engineer to join a large-scale Data Modernization Program. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in DBT, SQL, and Snowflake, with experience migrating legacy ETL solutions (preferably Informatica) to modern cloud-based data platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Translate Informatica mappings, transformations, and business rules into DBT models on Snowflake.
  • Design and implement staging, core, and mart layers using DBT best practices.
  • Develop and maintain DBT schema tests, data tests, and custom tests.
  • Implement snapshots, seeds, macros, and reusable DBT components.
  • Collaborate with Snowflake developers to optimize physical data structures.
  • Validate functional equivalence between legacy Informatica and new DBT outputs.
  • Tune DBT models and Snowflake queries for optimal performance.
  • Integrate DBT with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Document DBT models, business rules, and data lineage.
  • Participate in defect analysis, bug fixes, and migration support.
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with DBT (Core or Cloud).
  • Advanced SQL development skills.
  • Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse.
  • Good understanding of DBT concepts including models, tests, sources, seeds, snapshots, macros, and exposures.
  • Knowledge of dimensional data modeling, fact & dimension tables, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).
  • Experience integrating DBT into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of ETL/Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Good to Have
  • Experience with Informatica mappings and workflows.
  • Experience in offshore/onshore delivery model.
  • Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions experience.
  • Data migration and modernization project experience.
