Job Description
- Level 2 support on Incident and problem management.
- PostgreSQL DB/SQL Performance Analysis and Tuning.
- Managing PostgreSQL Database Security Audit violations resolving them.
- PostgreSQL Database Installation and Configuration, Database Backup and Recovery, SQL Tuning, User maintenance, Tablespace management, Hot Standby and Replication.
- PostgreSQL Database Migration, Upgrades as part of Technology Life Cycle Management to be compliant with organization standards.
- Patch management and highlight teams regarding future enhancements releases.
Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of DBA (IT) experience.
Activities in scope
- Installation and Configuration, Perform maintenance activity in database.
- PostgreSQL Database upgradations and migration.
- PostgreSQL Database reconciliation mechanisms.
- PostgreSQL Database Migration, Upgrades to be compliant with organization standards.
- Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the PostgreSQL database.
- Backup and Recovery, Hot Standby and Replication, PITR and Upgradation.
- SQL Tuning, User maintenance, Tablespace management.
- Understand the RTO/RPO requirements for the application databases to define the database backup and restore policy.
- Experience in Installation and creating Hot Streaming Replication (Master and Slave).
- Problem solving and good analytical skills. Communication, teamwork, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Cluster configuration, Master-Slave.
- Backup configuration using Veeam and/or by Barman.
- PgDump/PgDumpall and PgRestore.
- DR Replica, by Barman or other.
- Physical streaming replication and Logical replication.
- Data masking and encryption.
