Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Azure SQL Database management and DevOps-driven deployments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex database issues, designing efficient schemas, and writing optimized stored procedures. This role requires a balance of technical depth, problem-solving ability, and collaboration with development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Azure SQL Databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
• Deploy and maintain database scripts using Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices.
• Design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, and constraints for scalability and performance.
• Write and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and functions to support business logic.
• Perform query tuning and optimization to improve application performance.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless integration of database changes.
• Monitor database performance metrics and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 2 years working on Azure SQL Database.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and ability to write/debug complex stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for database deployments.
• Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
• Familiarity with backup/restore strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery in Azure.
• Knowledge of security best practices (roles, permissions, encryption).
