Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Database Specialist with strong expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining databases on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and manage MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in GCP environments
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Cloud SQL / managed database services
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) processes
  • Ensure high availability and replication setup
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide performance optimization
  • Implement database security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripts/tools
  • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams for database support
Required Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration
  • Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Expertise in Cloud SQL, database migration, and replication
  • Good knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization
  • Experience in backup recovery strategies
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and logging systems
  • Understanding of networking concepts and cloud security
Good to Have:
  • Experience with GCP services like Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git)
  • Experience in database migration from on-prem to GCP
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • GCP Certification (Associate/Professional) is a plus
