The Communications Product Analytics team within Expedia Group supports end-to-end communication experience of the travelers for communications related to transactions. Our team is tasked with partnering with Product leads and helping them understand behavior of our travelers, finding insights, making data driven recommendations for Product improvements and analyzing performance of product launches through A/B testing. Our team is looking for a Data Scientist II to join the Post Booking Analytics team where Communications Analytics is housed. In this role, the candidate will contribute to many aspects of product development, including understanding user behavior for on-site search, off-site interactions, test and learn, opportunity identification, and problem-solving. In this role, you will:

Proactively identify problems and recommend solutions for the product roadmap

Design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests; promote experimentation best practices

Build reports and dashboards to track key product metrics

Work with large, complex datasets to answer questions from Product Managers

Write SQL queries and create clear visualizations to tell compelling data stories
-
Take ownership of analytical projects from start to finish

Present insights to leadership and collaborate with cross functional teams (Product, Design, Research, Engineering)

Communicate effectively in writing and verbally

Stay focused on delivering high quality, timely results
Experience Qualifications:
-
2 4 years of experience in analytics or data science

Strong problem solving skills and ability to translate insights into action

Experience with predictive modeling, exploratory analytics, and statistical methods

Proficiency in Python/R, SQL, and Tableau (or similar tools)

Solid understanding of A/B testing concepts

Ability to build common models (regression, clustering) and perform data preprocessing

Understanding of data models and their appropriate use cases
-
Excellent communication skills and comfort working with global teams

Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment

Curiosity, initiative, and independence in finding and validating data sources
