Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and expansion of a robust data integration platform supporting global wealth management operations.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and development teams to gather requirements and align solutions with business needs.
  • Analyze, model, and create data architectures, including star schema and third normal form, ensuring they meet business, regulatory, and technical standards.
  • Define and document business transformation rules from source to consumer interfaces, and conduct impact assessments for proposed changes.
  • Develop and maintain data models and metadata repositories, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Build and share deep knowledge of data sources, platform capabilities, and consumer data usage, educating users and technical teams.
  • Validate data models against projected data growth, evolving business patterns, and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide leadership in stakeholder management, driving cross-functional team collaboration and effective project delivery.
  • Make informed decisions on technical direction, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions to complex data architecture challenges.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory frameworks, risk policies, and internal standards.

Skill Requirements

Essential Technical Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Databricks, Apache Spark, and Python for data engineering and analytics.
  • Strong experience with data modelling, including definition of data schemata in both star schema and third normal form environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with data warehousing platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in the financial domain, with understanding of investment and client data entities.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality principles, and best practices in data management.
  • Ability to interpret source data models with limited documentation.
  • Familiarity with data integration patterns, data lineage, and metadata management.
  • Experience with ER Studio or similar data modelling tools.

Desirable / Good-to-Have Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including AWS Glue, Athena, and S3.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs for data integration.
  • Experience with data science and machine learning concepts.
  • Familiarity with data catalog tools such as Alation.
  • Proficiency in Python Pandas for data manipulation.
  • Exposure to ETL tools and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
