Data Architect (Commercial Banking / AML) APAC Markets

Key Requirements

Role Overview

• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise data platforms.
• Support Commercial & Corporate Banking domains with a focus on AML, Financial Crime, and Regulatory Data.
• Drive end-to-end delivery from platform strategy and architecture to production and operationalization.
• Work across multiple APAC markets and stakeholder groups.

Data Architecture & Platform Design

• Architect and implement Data Lakehouse solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Design end-to-end data ecosystems covering:
• Data ingestion
• Data storage
• Data modeling
• Analytics & reporting
• Data governance
• Define enterprise data standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and regulatory-compliant data platforms.

Engineering & Delivery

• Lead greenfield data platform builds from concept to production.
• Oversee data engineering functions including:
• ETL/ELT pipelines
• Workflow orchestration
• Data quality controls
• Data lineage
• Metadata management
• Support AI/ML integration within enterprise data platforms.
• Manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.

Analytics & Reporting

• Collaborate with analytics and business teams.
• Enable AML monitoring, regulatory reporting, BI, and advanced analytics use cases.
• Understand complete data flow from source systems to data lakehouse and analytics layers.
• Design data models optimized for reporting and compliance requirements.

Data Governance

• Implement enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Establish and maintain:
• Data stewardship
• Data lineage
• Data quality management
• Metadata governance
• Ensure compliance with banking and regulatory standards.
• Support ongoing platform enhancements and governance initiatives.

Stakeholder Management

• Engage with business, technology, and executive leadership teams.
• Translate technical architecture into business value and outcomes.
• Influence and guide cross-functional decision-making.
• Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

Regional APAC Exposure

• Work across APAC markets including:
• Thailand
• Korea
• Japan
• Myanmar
• India
• Philippines
• Understand regional regulatory, data, and infrastructure differences.
• Travel required quarterly or less.

Cloud & Enterprise Architecture

• Contribute to broader cloud and enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Design integration patterns and enterprise services.
• Support cloud environment setup and operations including:
• IAM (Identity & Access Management)
• Networking
• Security controls
• Cloud governance
