The Lead Data Analyst will oversee and guide analytical activities to support strategic initiatives such as business case development for data governance, risk management, and platform security programs. This role ensures high-quality data insights, drives best practices in data analysis, and mentors team members to deliver impactful outcomes aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data analysts, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Define analytical standards, frameworks, and best practices for data profiling, quality assessment, and metrics development.
- Drive advanced data analysis to validate assumptions and quantify benefits for business cases.
- Oversee scenario modelling and impact analysis to support decision-making.
- Ensure robust data governance practices, including lineage validation and metadata management.
- Monitor and improve data quality across multiple sources and platforms.
- Act as the primary liaison between data stewards, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Communicate complex insights clearly to senior leadership and decision-makers.
- Oversee use of cloud-based platforms (e.g., Databricks, Amazon Redshift) for large-scale data analysis.
- Ensure efficient integration of data using APIs and advanced data engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track data governance maturity and risk mitigation progress.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations in executive-level reports.
Capabilities, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 8+ years in data analytics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Amazon Redshift, and RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in agile environments.
- Exceptional ability to convey complex insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
