Cyber Security Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Cyber Security Specialist with 1 2 years of experience to help protect our organization s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The candidate will assist in monitoring security alerts, performing vulnerability assessments, and supporting incident response activities.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools.

Identify, analyze, and respond to potential security incidents.

Conduct vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing.

Assist in implementing security policies, procedures, and controls.

Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity.

Support patch management and security updates.

Investigate security breaches and prepare incident reports.

Work with IT teams to ensure systems follow security best practices.

Maintain documentation of security processes and incidents.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of network security concepts (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS).

Familiarity with security tools like Wireshark, Nessus, Burp Suite, or Nmap.

Understanding of vulnerability management and threat detection.

Knowledge of operating systems security (Windows/Linux).

Basic understanding of cloud security concepts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.

Security certifications such as:

CompTIA Security+

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate

Experience with SOC operations or security monitoring.

Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure security services.

Experience

1 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, SOC analyst, or network security role.
