Job Description
We are seeking a Cyber Security Consultant with Japanese language proficiency and foundational Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) skills to support cybersecurity engagements involving Japanese clients and stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating security assessments, communicating technical findings, supporting vulnerability validation activities, and assisting in the preparation of security reports and client deliverables.
The ideal candidate should possess strong Japanese and English communication skills , a good understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, and hands-on exposure to security assessment activities.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating security assessments, communicating technical findings, supporting vulnerability validation activities, and assisting in the preparation of security reports and client deliverables.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Cyber Security , Information Security , Vulnerability Assessment , Penetration Testing , or related domains.
- JLPT N3 certification is mandatory; JLPT N2 certification is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English .
- Basic hands-on experience in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) .
- Experience in client communication , reporting , and stakeholder management .
- Candidate must be willing to relocate and be stationed in Japan for a minimum period of two (2) years as part of the project assignment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact between Yamaha Motor Corporation Japan and Global entities to drive and enhance the organizations application security posture.
- Coordinate and communicate with Japanese-speaking clients , stakeholders, and project teams.
- Translate and interpret technical discussions, security findings, project requirements, and assessment outcomes between Japanese and English .
- Support Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing engagements for Web Applications , Mobile Apps (Android & iOS), APIs , Network Infrastructure , Cloud Environments , and Enterprise Applications .
- Perform vulnerability validation and assist in risk assessment activities.
- Analyze security findings and provide remediation recommendations .
- Prepare assessment reports , executive summaries , and client-facing deliverables .
- Participate in security workshops , status meetings , and project discussions.
- Assist in remediation verification and re-testing activities .
- Ensure compliance with internal methodologies, client requirements, and industry best practices.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing methodologies .
- Knowledge of Web Application Security Testing , API Security Testing , Network Security Assessment , and Mobile Application Security Testing .
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 , CVSS , Authentication & Authorization Testing , Session Management , Security Misconfigurations , Injection Vulnerabilities , Sensitive Data Exposure , and Access Control Testing .
- Basic understanding of Information Security Principles and Secure Development Practices .
Tools Exposure
Burp Suite Professional, HCL AppScan, Nessus, Nmap, OWASP ZAP, Acunetix (Invicti), Qualys, Postman, Wireshark, Kali-Linux, NMAP, MobSF, Microsoft Office Suite .
Preferred Certifications
CEH, Security+, eJPT, PNPT, OSCP, ISO 27001 Foundation/Lead Auditor.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science , Information Technology , Cyber Security , Electronics & Communication Engineering , or a related technical discipline.
- Candidates with equivalent technical qualifications and relevant cybersecurity experience may also be considered.
Good to Have
- Exposure to Cloud Security Assessments ( AWS, Azure, GCP ).
- Experience with Active Directory Security Assessments .
- Knowledge of Secure Code Review practices.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and CI/CD Security concepts.
- Prior experience working with Japanese customers or multicultural teams .
