CSSD Technician

• Collect used ophthalmic instruments from Operation Theatre OT
• Clean microsurgical instruments carefully using approved enzymatic solutions
• Operate ultrasonic cleaners and washer disinfectors
• Follow strict infection control and aseptic techniques
• Inspect delicate eye surgery instruments under magnification
• Check instruments for cleanliness, damage, rust, or malfunction
• Handle Phaco, cataract, retina, and LASIK instruments carefully
• Monitor sterilization cycles and biological indicators
• Maintain sterilization records and batch details
• Supply sterile instruments to ophthalmic OT on time

The CSSD Technician in an eye hospital is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, packing, storing, and distributing ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment. The role is very important in preventing eye infections such as endophthalmitis after eye surgeries. Special care is required for delicate microsurgical ophthalmic instruments
