Corporate Lawyer

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

• Manage the complete accounting function of the factory.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end book closures.
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheet schedules, and MIS reports.
• Monitor general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.

Costing & Manufacturing Finance

• Oversee product costing, standard costing, BOM validation, and variance analysis.
• Analyze production costs and recommend cost optimization initiatives.
• Monitor manufacturing overheads and profitability by product/process.
• Support pricing decisions through detailed cost analysis.

Inventory & Stores Accounting

• Ensure accurate accounting of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, consumables, and scrap.
• Conduct inventory reconciliation and physical stock verification.
• Investigate stock variances and strengthen inventory controls.
• Coordinate with stores, procurement, and production teams for inventory management.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Prepare annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify deviations.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to plant management.

Statutory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and maintenance of financial records.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Develop and strengthen internal financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and approval processes.
• Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives.

Working Capital Management

• Monitor receivables, payables, cash flow, and working capital.
• Optimize inventory levels and vendor payment cycles.
• Drive initiatives to improve cash flow and operational efficiency.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the factory accounts team.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, stores, HR, and corporate finance.
• Present financial performance and key insights to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• ICWA / M.Com or MBA (Finance).
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.

Experience

• 17+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Strong exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar manufacturing ERP platforms.
