Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Manage the complete accounting function of the factory.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end book closures.
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheet schedules, and MIS reports.
- Monitor general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
Costing & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee product costing, standard costing, BOM validation, and variance analysis.
- Analyze production costs and recommend cost optimization initiatives.
- Monitor manufacturing overheads and profitability by product/process.
- Support pricing decisions through detailed cost analysis.
Inventory & Stores Accounting
- Ensure accurate accounting of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, consumables, and scrap.
- Conduct inventory reconciliation and physical stock verification.
- Investigate stock variances and strengthen inventory controls.
- Coordinate with stores, procurement, and production teams for inventory management.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Prepare annual operating budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify deviations.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to plant management.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits.
- Liaise with auditors, banks, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and maintenance of financial records.
Internal Controls & Governance
- Develop and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and approval processes.
- Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions.
- Support ERP implementation and process improvement initiatives.
Working Capital Management
- Monitor receivables, payables, cash flow, and working capital.
- Optimize inventory levels and vendor payment cycles.
- Drive initiatives to improve cash flow and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the factory accounts team.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, stores, HR, and corporate finance.
- Present financial performance and key insights to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting.
Qualifications
- ICWA / M.Com or MBA (Finance).
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
Experience
- 17+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, preferably in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Strong exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar manufacturing ERP platforms.
