Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities1. Government Relations & Public Policy Advocacy
- Develop and execute government relations strategies aligned with the companys long-term business goals in the defence and security sectors.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret national defence budgets, military procurement frameworks, offsets, and foreign direct investment (FDI) regulations.
- Lead strategic outreach to key ministries, defence acquisition authorities, armed services commands, and legislative committees.
- Represent the company at industry forums, trade associations, and government working groups.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Offsets Oversight
- Ensure business operations comply with procurement rules, ITAR/EAR/export control laws, and local manufacturing mandates.
- Interface with government bodies to manage industrial offsets obligations, offset credits, and regulatory approvals for contracts.
- Provide actionable regulatory intelligence to senior executive leadership regarding shifting industrial policies.
3. Corporate Reputation & Crisis Communications
- Develop internal and external messaging tailored for government, media, and industry stakeholders.
- Formulate crisis management protocols for sensitive operational, political, or regulatory developments.
- Coordinate high-profile corporate events, industry expos (e.g., Aero India, DSEI, Eurosatory), and ministerial visits.
4. Strategic Stakeholder Management
- Map and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key decisions-makers across defense agencies, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and industry partners.
- Collaborate closely with business development, legal, and offset teams to align public policy efforts with commercial opportunities.
