Job Description
Copilot Studio Senior Developer
Location: Pan India
Role Summary
We are looking for a Copilot Studio Senior Developer to build and ship custom AI agents (copilots) that plug into our clients' Microsoft 365 and Power Platform estates. This is a hands-on role. You will design conversation flows, wire agents to enterprise data and actions, and take them through to production with the right grounding, testing, and guardrails. You should be comfortable owning an agent end to end and mentoring less experienced developers on the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build custom agents in Copilot Studio, including topics, trigger phrases, conversation flows, and generative answers grounded on enterprise knowledge sources.
- Configure knowledge sources (SharePoint, Dataverse, public and internal websites, files) and tune grounding so agents give accurate, in-scope responses.
- Build actions that let agents do real work by connecting to Power Automate flows, connectors, Microsoft Graph, and custom or REST APIs.
- Implement authentication and secure data access for agents, using Entra ID and appropriate permission scopes.
- Handle agent lifecycle: environment strategy, solution packaging, testing, and publishing across channels such as Teams, M365 Copilot, and websites.
- Apply prompt design and generative orchestration to balance scripted control with generative flexibility, and test for accuracy, safety, and unwanted behaviour.
- Support and troubleshoot agents in production, including analytics review, fixing failed actions, and improving grounding based on usage.
- Mentor developers and contribute reusable patterns, prompts, and components back to the team.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on Copilot Studio experience: topics, generative answers, knowledge sources, actions, and publishing.
- Solid Power Platform grounding, especially Power Automate and connectors, and working knowledge of Dataverse.
- Experience connecting agents to data and actions via Microsoft Graph, connectors, and REST APIs.
- Understanding of Entra ID, authentication, and permission/consent models for secure agent access.
- Practical prompt engineering and an understanding of generative AI behaviour, grounding, and limitations.
- Ability to test, monitor, and iterate on agents using the built-in analytics.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Understanding of RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) concepts and how grounding, chunking, and retrieval quality affect answer accuracy.
- Some scripting ability (Python or PowerShell) for custom connectors and Azure Functions.
- SPFx or Power Apps development for surfacing or embedding agents in custom experiences.
- Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, AI services) for extending agents beyond low-code.
- Exposure to pro-code agent frameworks (Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Foundry) for hybrid low-code plus pro-code scenarios.
- Awareness of responsible AI, data governance, and DLP considerations.
- SharePoint Online knowledge for grounding and content-source design.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: Typically 5 to 8 years across Power Platform / M365 development, with real Copilot Studio delivery experience.
Certifications: PL-400, PL-600, or the Copilot/agent-focused credentials are an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Comfortable explaining what an agent can and cannot reliably do, and setting expectations with stakeholders.
- Clear communicator who can turn a business ask into a workable agent design.
