Job Opening for Contracts & Claims at Kalpataru Projects International Ltd in the Oil & Gas.


Education: BE /B Tech + PMP/NICMAR/LLB

Experience: 8-15 yrs.



Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management/Administration of projects. Submission of request for extension of time/delay analysis to ensure waiver of LD
  • Manage Variations /Extra Work claims - Preparation of submissions & along with claims computation in consultation with the Project team, follow up for approval of Variations Correspondence with client/consultant in order to avoid any liabilities/recoveries.
  • Take up the Contractual Issues with Client; attend meetings with Client to find resolution for the same. Management and reconciliation of legacy projects, debt collection, dispute/claims resolution and project closure.
  • Assistance to legal for Initiation of the Dispute Recourse. To provide inputs to legal counsels for the arbitration-related matter and other legal issues of the Projects. Preparation of statement of claims, rejoinders and oral submissions.
  • Review the tender document to understand Contractual Risks, discuss and seek suitable changes in COC from Client, highlight contractual risks/ mitigation measures during the tender review meetings. In the event of award, ensure signing of sound contracts.
  • Association Agreements: Drafting, negotiation and finalization of MoUs for Consortium/ Joint Venture, Nominated Subcontractor with partners as required during the bid stage/post award.
  • Guide proactively to Project Managers/Contract Engineers/Planning Managers on contractual obligations and protecting the interest of the company.
  • Handling subcontract related legal issues.Maintaining & monitoring of Contracts MIS.

Competencies :

  • Acquaintance with Indian Contracts Act, Indian Arbitration & Conciliation Act,FIDIC etc.
  • Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract of Oil & Gas PSUs.
  • Contract reading & Interpretation Skills
  • Logical Approach
  • Team Player
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint (preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
