Consultant- Surgical ICU

Critical Patient Care : Provide expert medical care to patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Postoperative Care : Manage postoperative patients, ensuring optimal recovery and addressing complications. Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Monitoring and Assessment : Monitor and assess the condition of critically ill surgical patients, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Ventilator Management : Manage mechanical ventilation for patients requiring respiratory support. Invasive Procedures : Perform or assist with invasive procedures such as central line placements, chest tube insertions, and arterial catheterizations. Medication Management : Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring appropriate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects. Emergency Response : Respond to emergencies within the SICU, providing immediate and effective medical care. Family Communication : Communicate with patients' families, providing updates on patient status, prognosis, and care plans. Documentation : Maintain accurate and up - to - date medical records, documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Quality Improvement : Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care in the SICU.
