Construction Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Safe & Timely execution of Site construction activities with exceptional quality management.
• Ensure all safety pre-cautions, norms and compliance are followed during the entire duration of construction.
• Overall responsibility of site activities with regards to quality procedure, quality systems and schedule.
• To liaise with customer, consultant, contractors and statutory bodies on different aspects of job execution.
• Co-ordinate with head office.
• To maintain records and documents properly as per requirement of quality system.
• To supervise the execution of jobs at site as per planned schedule, company quality procedures and quality system.
• To perform the inspection on the job carried out by construction vendor at site.
• To check & verify the skill of labour being engaged on job by construction vendor.
• Administrative & schedule control.
• Job allocation to site engineers.
• Follow up with contractor for mobilisation of resources as per site requirement.
• To ensure smooth and timely execution as per L2 Schedule.
• Ensure all the statutory requirements of local government, central government & customer are followed without any deviation.
• Expedite progress of work at site to ensure timely and sequential delivery as per project schedule. Ensure handing over of the site work completion protocol / documents to Construction Manager.
• Tracking material supply with respect to the schedule and escalating delays through Construction Manager.
• Follow up for Drawing & documents required at site.
• Highlight the deviation with respect to drawing through SAR.
• Report progress of site to head office. (DPR, WPR & MPR).
• Report material receipt / damage /lost to head office.
• Ensure the heavy lifts are planned properly in a safe manner. Ensure crane is deployed for the shortest possible period.
• Commercially monitor the opportunity for extra claims in the event of site delays with the agency responsible for delay including contractors.
• Obtain WCC from customer. Follow up for payment from customer.
• Certification of contractors WCC. Certification of extra work with contractor.

Critical Competencies:

• Experience in executing construction projects, understanding of site activities, sequence, interlinks, constraints etc.
• Preferably worked in construction activities of Thermal Power Plants / Petrochemical complex.
• Knowledge of Safe working Practices at Construction sites.
• Knowledge of Quality requirements of Site construction.
• Knowledge of Statutory & basic Commercial aspects of Construction.
• Excellent Communication skills & team management qualities.
• Computer literacy, report generation & presentation skills.
• Customer & Contractor handling capabilities.
