COMOS Administrator Fluid Systems

The COMOS Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the COMOS engineering data platform, with a strong focus on fluid systems such as fuel oil, fuel gas, lube oil, and auxiliary systems. The role includes data ownership, real device management, user administration, and system governance, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and efficient collaboration across engineering teams.

Your new role challenging and future-oriented:

1. COMOS Administration Governance

Administer and maintain the COMOS database, ensuring data integrity and system availability.

Define and manage COMOS structures, standards, and templates for fluid systems.

Act as the real device owner within COMOS, ensuring correct modeling and lifecycle management.

Control and execute multiplication (copy/template replication) of COMOS objects for new projects.

2. Fluid Systems Data Management

Manage engineering data for fluid systems including:

Fuel Oil Systems

Fuel Gas Systems

Lube Oil Systems

Auxiliary Balance-of-Plant fluid systems

Ensure accurate representation of piping, instrumentation, and equipment within COMOS.

Maintain consistency between PIDs, 3D models, and COMOS datasets.

3. Real Device Asset Ownership

Take ownership of real device definitions, attributes, and classifications.

Ensure proper linking of devices with engineering documents and tags.

Maintain standard libraries of equipment and components.

4. User Access Management

Manage COMOS users, roles, and permissions.

Support onboarding and access provisioning for new users.

Ensure compliance with company IT and data governance policies.

5. Collaboration Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborate with:

Mechanical, Process, and Instrumentation Engineers

Digital/IT teams

Global engineering centers

Support cross-functional teams in resolving COMOS-related issues.

Act as a single point of contact for COMOS topics within fluid systems.

6. Training Support

Provide training sessions and user guidance for COMOS users.

Develop user manuals, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve system/data-related issues.

7. Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement improvements in COMOS workflows and data structures.

Drive standardization and automation initiatives.

Participate in system upgrades, testing, and validation.

Diploma/ Bachelors/Masters degree in:

Mechanical Engineering/Chemical/Process Engineering or related discipline

14 +years of experience in COMOS administration or engineering data management- Fluid systems engineering (fuel oil, gas, lube oil, etc.)

Experience in power generation, oil gas, or industrial plants preferred.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in Siemens COMOS

Understanding of:

PIDs

Fluid system design

Equipment instrumentation tagging

Knowledge of engineering data integration (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP) is an advantage.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work with global teams and stakeholders

Leadership in driving digital engineering topics
