Terraform Hybrid IaC Configuration

Cognizant will

Microsoft Azure

• For Microsoft Azure, Cognizant will configure the Terraform AzureRM provider, authentication approach, and required permissions in accordance with Central Hudson security standards.
• Cognizant will align Terraform deployments to Central Hudsons subscription and resource group model and confirm required naming and tagging standards.
• Cognizant will develop MVP Azure modules to provision virtual machines (Windows/Linux), support network interface and subnet selection, and enforce resource tagging in accordance with agreed standards.

On-Premises (VMware vSphere)

• Cognizant will configure the Terraform VMware vSphere provider, authentication approach, and required vCenter permissions in accordance with Central Hudson security standards and the approved service account credentials held in Delinea Secret Server.
• Cognizant will align Terraform vSphere deployments to Central Hudson’s approved vCenter cluster, datastore, and port group standards, and confirm required naming and tagging conventions for on-premises virtual machines.
• Cognizant will develop MVP vSphere modules to provision virtual machines (Windows/Linux) on approved clusters and datastores, configure network adapter and port group assignment, and enforce resource tagging in accordance with agreed standards.

Common Terraform Standards

• Cognizant will implement Terraform naming conventions and tagging standards aligned to Central Hudson requirements.
• Cognizant will implement environment separation and promotion controls to support governance across development, test, and production deployments.
• Cognizant will integrate Terraform plan/apply workflows into Jenkins pipelines, including approval gates and execution logging.
