  • A CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Programmer is responsible for writing and testing programs for computer-controlled machine tools in a manufacturing setting
  • Here is a comprehensive job description for the role:Overview: The CNC Programmer will be responsible for writing and testing programs that control the operation of computer-controlled machine tools, such as mills, lathes, and laser cutters
  • The role requires a strong understanding of engineering drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Responsibilities:Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to determine the most efficient and effective machining processes
  • Write, test, and modify CNC programs using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software
  • Load programs into CNC machines and monitor their operation to ensure that they are producing high-quality parts in accordance with specifications
  • Set up and run tests to evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of the programs and the machines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any problems that arise during the machining process, adjusting the programs as needed
  • Optimize CNC programs to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
  • Maintain records of all programs, setups, and production runs, and use these records to improve future processes
  • Requirements:Proven experience as a CNC programmer, with a strong understanding of CNC machining processes and software
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
  • Strong proficiency with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software
  • Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines and control systems, including mills, lathes, and laser cutters
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with good organizational and time-management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
