Job Description
Hiring: Cloud Platform Migration Engineer
Role Snapshot Hands-on engineer to drive migration from Platform9/OpenStack to Spectro Cloud Palette (Kubernetes). Operationally focused role requiring discipline in production-like environments, CLI-driven workflows, and safe execution of migration runbooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute OpenStack operations (compute, Cinder, Heat, Ironic/bare-metal).
- Perform CLI-based validation, inspection, and infra modifications.
- Provision & manage Kubernetes clusters via Spectro Cloud Palette.
- Handle VM/storage migration, teardown, and cleanup.
- Validate cluster health (nodes, pods, networking, storage).
- Coordinate network migration (VLAN, DHCP/PXE, DNS, Meraki checks).
- Monitor via SignalFX, Splunk Cloud during migration windows.
- Follow GitOps/change-control practices with clear documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong Platform9/OpenStack administration (compute, storage, Heat, Ironic).
- Proficiency with OpenStack CLI, Linux admin, shell scripting.
- VM/storage migration workflows, rollback-aware execution.
- Solid Kubernetes fundamentals; cluster ops experience.
- Networking basics (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, ICMP validation).
- Monitoring/logging tools (SignalFX, Splunk Cloud).
- Strong change-management discipline.
Preferred
- Spectro Cloud Palette experience.
- GitOps/GitHub workflows.
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS).
- Prior customer-facing migration/project delivery.
- Exposure to data center/infra modernization projects.
