Cloud Operations Engineer

Job Summary

As a member of our Cloud Operations organization, you will collaborate with our Development, Product Management and other groups to design, implement and deliver highly scalable and highly available SaaS solution to our enterprise customers. This role will be responsible for maintaining all our Cloud customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issues within defined SLAs.
• Assess incident severity and respond appropriately to minimize customer impact.
• Analyze system logs and debug issues to restore services quickly.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend preventive measures.
• Communicate incident status and updates to stakeholders effectively.
• Deploy, monitor, and support application releases across environments.
• Identify recurring issues, analyze trends, and propose long-term solutions.
• Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous support.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with flexible schedules.

Requirements

• BE / B Tech / ME / M Tech with 4-6 years of systems/application engineering experience with DevOps experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in application support or cloud operations.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and EKS platforms and related technologies.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in setting up and operating at least one Kubernetes distribution (e.g., EKS) in production.
• Hands-on experience in setting up auto-scaling for Kubernetes & EMR clusters.
• Hands-on administration experience with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, OCI, and GCP.
• Expert knowledge of AWS platform and services as well as hybrid and multi-cloud solutions.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8), ArgoCD, HelmChart.
• 1-2 years of working experience on any service mesh, preferably Istio.
• Strong working experience on CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins (Expert), Github, Maven, Helm Charts, and Git.
• Proficient in provisioning and Infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, and Cloud formation.
• Solid knowledge of scripting in Python, Shell Scripting (including Bash), Groovy, or Perl.
• Advance troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Application Middleware platforms such as Jboss, Apache, Tomcat, and NGINX.
• Strong experience on Operating Systems - Linux (Red Hat, Oracle Linux, CentOS, OEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts: DNS, firewalls, SFTP, file systems, LDAP.
• Experience with monitoring and APM tools, e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, NewRelic, StageMonitor, Zabbix, and ELK stack.
• Good understanding of Agile software development framework.
• Ability to multitask with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification is a plus.

Nice to Have

• AWS or other cloud certifications.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Knowledge of databases (Oracle or other RDBMS) and data migration tools.
• Exposure to big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
• Experience with WebSphere, WebLogic, datahub.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Kibana, EMR.
• Experience supporting tools like Informatica, Cognos or Looker.
• Monitoring tools – Zabbix, Graylog etc.
