About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, CI/CD, cloud databases, monitoring, Linux administration, and hybrid cloud environments. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to build scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-optimized cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Manage and administer Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) clusters for containerized applications.
- Build, deploy, and manage Docker containers and container registries.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
- Administer and manage Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server databases hosted on AWS.
- Perform database provisioning, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, replication monitoring, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database health, optimize SQL performance, troubleshoot database issues, and ensure database security and availability.
- Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar tools.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure security, compliance, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Configure and manage networking components including VPC, Route Tables, Security Groups, Load Balancers, NAT Gateway, VPN, DNS, SSL/TLS, and IAM.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with application development teams to improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
- Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), architecture diagrams, and deployment guides.
- Assist in implementing disaster recovery (DR), backup strategies, and business continuity plans.
- Support infrastructure audits, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
- Experience working with Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS.
- Knowledge of AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and API Gateway.
- Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL query optimization and Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure services.
- Basic understanding of on-premises infrastructure, including:
- VMware/Hyper-V virtualization
- Windows Server
- Linux Servers
- SAN/NAS Storage
- Active Directory
- DNS/DHCP
- Hybrid cloud connectivity
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments integrating AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises infrastructure.
- Exposure to PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar security and compliance standards is an added advantage.
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer Professional) are preferred.
- Azure Administrator Associate or Google Associate Cloud Engineer certification is an added advantage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
