Clean Room Facility Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Air filtration: Uses HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) or ULPA (Ultra-Low Penetration Air) filters to remove airborne particles.
• Controlled airflow: Maintains laminar or turbulent airflow to prevent contamination.
• Temperature and humidity control: Keeps environmental conditions within strict limits.
• Positive or negative pressure:
• Positive pressure: Prevents contaminants from entering the room (common in pharmaceutical and electronics manufacturing).
• Negative pressure: Prevents hazardous materials from escaping (common in laboratories handling infectious materials).
• Special construction materials: Smooth, non-shedding walls, ceilings, and flooring that are easy to clean.
• Personnel protocols: Workers wear cleanroom garments such as gowns, gloves, masks, hairnets, and shoe covers.

• HEPA/ULPA filtration system
• HVAC system
• Airlocks and gowning rooms
• Pass boxes (material transfer)
• Cleanroom lighting
• Monitoring sensors for particle counts, temperature, humidity, and pressure
• Antistatic flooring (where required)
