We are seeking an experienced and competent maritime professional to join our team as a Chief Officer
The Chief Officer will play a key role in overseeing the safe navigation and overall operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations, and leading a team of deck officers and crew members
Responsibilities:Navigation and Watchkeeping:Assume overall responsibility for the safe navigation of the vessel during assigned watches
Ensure adherence to navigational procedures and international regulations
Safety and Emergency Response:Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures in accordance with maritime regulations
Lead emergency response drills and activities
Team Leadership:Provide effective leadership to the deck department, including training and mentoring junior officers and crew
Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and collaboration
Cargo Operations:Supervise and coordinate cargo loading and unloading operations
Ensure proper stowage and securing of cargo in compliance with industry standards
Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain accurate navigational records and logs
Prepare reports and documentation related to vessel operations
Communication:Maintain clear and effective communication with the Captain, crew members, and relevant shore-based personnel
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations
Security:Implement security measures in accordance with international maritime security protocols
Conduct regular security drills
Qualifications:Valid STCW II/2 Chief Mate (Unlimited) certification
Proven experience as Chief Officer or equivalent on a similar vessel
Proficiency in the use of navigational and communication equipment
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
