Location: West Africa
- 10-15 years of proven experience managing engineering departments, maintenance experience in large manufacturing facility, out of which 8 years as Department Head.
- Bachelors or master s degree in mechanical engineering with Business Administration or any relevant professional body will be added advantage.
Job Description
- The primary function of the Chief Engineer is to ensure safe and efficient operation of Engineering Department, plant machineries, utilities like steam boiler, air compressor, Power Genset, water treatment plant, chillers fire protection system.
- Responsible for Implementation of effective Preventive and predictive maintenance culture (TPM) for maximum equipment availability. Troubleshoot and implement emergency plans.
- Accountable to achieve all KPI targets like Power, steam and RM cost. Improve OEE, MTTR, MTBF.
- Review and perform calculations to determine energy efficiency, equipment capacities, heating and cooling requirements, and code compliance and compatibility.
- Provide leadership to mechanical Electrical / design staff, assisting with project initiation, planning, budgeting, scheduling, problem resolution, and document control.
- Responsibilities include, keeping of all operational standard, maintenance and repair of machineries, structure and all mechanical and electrical equipment. Ensure safety compliance at all sites.
- Accountable for Managing engineering store and inventory of engineering spares consumables.
- Leading daily morning meetings and ensure RCAs are done for any downtime happened on a day today basis to avoid repetitive maintenance. Provide leadership and management skills to develop a competent maintenance team.
- Work closely with the procurement team for establishing a skills tolerance contract to agree on service, delivery timelines, price and performance requirements for those equipment s wherever applicable.
