Manager / Assistant Manager Record to Report (R2R)

Role Overview

The Manager – Record to Report (R2R) will be responsible for leading the organization's financial accounting and reporting function, ensuring timely financial closures, statutory compliance, and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Management

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Ensure timely preparation of Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting schedules.
• Monitor the General Ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations on a periodic basis.
• Ensure sub-ledger to General Ledger reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate financial reports for management review.
• Support monthly MIS and business performance reporting.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with internal reporting timelines.

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
• Prepare schedules and documentation required by auditors.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.

Process Excellence

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reduce financial close timelines.
• Drive automation initiatives and standardization of finance processes.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support ERP improvements and finance system enhancements.

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with HR, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations for accurate accounting and reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Assist leadership with financial analysis for strategic initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education

• Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory

Experience

• 7–15 years of experience in Financial Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Corporate Finance.
• Experience in a start-up, mid-sized company is preferred
• Experience managing end-to-end financial close and reporting processes.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Financial Statements, General Ledger Accounting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, GST & Direct Tax fundamentals, Audit coordination
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query preferred).
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or similar finance platforms.
• Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI is an added advantage.
