Job Description

The Collection Center In-Charge for Fruits and Vegetables is
responsible for overseeing the efficient and organized collection,
sorting, and distribution of fresh produce at a designated collection
center. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations,
ensuring quality control, supervising staff, and maintaining a
positive relationship with local farmers and suppliers.
-Operations Management:
Coordinate and manage the collection, sorting, and packaging of fruits
and vegetables from local farmers and suppliers.
Ensure that all produce is handled, stored, and transported in
accordance with food safety regulations and industry best practices.
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the collection center.
 
-Quality Control:
Implement quality control procedures to ensure that only fresh,
high-quality produce is accepted at the collection center.
Inspect incoming produce for any signs of damage, spoilage, or
non-compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate with farmers to educate them about quality standards and
the importance of delivering produce meeting those standards.
-Staff Supervision:
Hire, train, and supervise a team of collection center staff,
including sorters, packers, and drivers.
Schedule shifts, manage workload distribution, and ensure that staff
adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures.
-Relationship Management:
Foster positive relationships with local farmers, suppliers, and
producers to maintain a steady supply of fresh produce.

Address any concerns or issues raised by farmers or suppliers promptly
and professionally.
-Data Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing produce, quantities
collected, and distribution details.
Generate regular reports on collection center performance, including
production metrics and quality assessment.
-Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials, supplies, and
equipment needed for collection and sorting operations.
Coordinate procurement and restocking as necessary to avoid
disruptions in operations.
-Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement
within the collection center operations.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize
collection processes.
 
Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field
(preferred but not mandatory).
-Proven experience in managing agricultural collection centers or similar roles.
-Strong knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including quality
standards, varieties, and post-harvest handling.
-Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
-Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and maintain good
relationships with farmers and suppliers.
-Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
-Good communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and reporting.
-Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
