Job Description
Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering
Certification: ISO CAT-II (Vibration Analysis) Mandatory
Reporting To: Client-CBM Project Lead Engineer
Role Summary:
The CBM Site Analyst is responsible for executing vibration-based Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) for rotating equipment at the plant level. This role ensures high-quality data collection, structured diagnostics, and seamless integration into the PlantOS platform , while supporting the Digital Reliability Stack (DRS) value chain from data to decision.
Key Responsibilities
CBM Data Collection Execution
- Perform routine vibration data collection on rotating equipment (motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fans).
- Ensure correct sensor placement, route adherence, and data quality using tools like all Sporadic Data Collectors.
- Follow standard operating procedures aligned with ISO 10816/API 610/617.
PlantOS DRS Platform Integration
- Upload and map collected data to PlantOS, ensuring correct asset tagging and metadata accuracy.
- Validate data visualization, alarm thresholds, and health indicators in PlantOS dashboards.
- Support the DRS value chain by linking CBM findings to RCA, RCFA, and maintenance actions.
Diagnostic Support
- Conduct preliminary vibration analysis (FFT, time waveform, envelope) to flag anomalies.
- Escalate abnormal findings to CBM Lead or Reliability Engineer for deeper diagnostics.
- Maintain trend logs and alarm history for critical assets.
Site Coordination Reporting
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for equipment access and safe data collection.
- Maintain daily logs, route completion reports, and exception summaries.
- Participate in weekly CBM review meetings and contribute to RCA discussions with vibration insights.
Required Skills Competencies
Vibration Analysis
Basic to intermediate FFT, envelope, and time waveform interpretation
CBM Tools
Sporadic analysers available in the market.
PlantOS Familiarity
Data upload, asset mapping, alarm validation
Standards Compliance
ISO 10816, API 610/617, ISO CAT-II certified
Digital Literacy
CMMS (SAP PM), mobile data collectors, PlantOS interface
Communication
Clear reporting, escalation of anomalies, team coordination
Performance Metrics
% of planned CBM routes completed on time
% of data successfully visualized in PlantOS
