Business Unit Head - Battery Energy Storage Systems (15-25 yrs)

About The Role:

The Business Unit Head BESS will lead and build the company's Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) business from the ground up with full P&L responsibility. The role involves driving business growth, developing strategic partnerships, managing key customer relationships, and establishing BESS pack assembly operations in India.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own BESS BU P&L revenue, margins, and working capital

- Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for utility-scale BESS in India

- Build and manage client relationships with NTPC, PGCIL, SECI, and private IPPs

- Lead technology partner negotiations

- Oversee pack assembly facility setup including certifications (BIS, IEC) and regulatory compliance

- Hire and develop the core BESS team across technical, commercial, and operations functions

- Represent TLL at industry forums, tenders, and government engagements.

Must Have :

- 15+ years of experience in Power, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, or Energy Transition sectors in India.

- Strong existing relationships with senior stakeholders at organizations such as NTPC, PGCIL, SECI, or private IPPs.

- Proven experience in utility-scale BESS, renewable energy, or energy storage projects.

- Demonstrated success in closing technology partnerships, strategic alliances, or joint ventures.

- Strong understanding of the Indian renewable energy and power ecosystem.

- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.

- MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.
