Business Analyst (Payments)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with 8+ years of experience in the Payments domain, specifically in Cross Border Payments / Global Payment Processing (GPP). The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in payment workflows, SWIFT messaging, ISO 20022, GPP platforms, and cross-border transaction processing. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams to gather requirements, drive payment transformation initiatives, and ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment systems and cross-border transaction processing.
• Work closely with stakeholders, SMEs, product owners, and technology teams to understand business needs and translate them into detailed requirements.
• Prepare and maintain BRD, FRD, FSD, User Stories, Process Flows, Use Cases, and Functional Specifications.
• Analyze and document payment workflows, including cross-border payment lifecycle and post-processing activities.
• Work on Global Payment Processing (GPP) implementations, enhancements, and payment transformation initiatives.
• Conduct requirement workshops, stakeholder discussions, and gap analysis sessions.
• Support UAT, SIT, defect triage, and production validation activities.
• Collaborate with development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment and participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and story refinement.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, payment standards, and security frameworks.
• Coordinate with external vendors, banking partners, and internal teams for payment integrations.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Payments/Banking domain.
• Strong hands-on experience in Cross Border Payments / International Payments / GPP (Global Payment Processing).
• Strong understanding of:
• SWIFT Payments
• ISO 20022 Messaging
• MT / MX messages
• CBPR+
• SEPA Payments
• RTGS / NEFT / ACH / Wire Transfers
• PAIN, PACS, CAMT message formats
• Experience in Payment Hub / GPP platforms / Global Payment Systems.
• Strong requirement gathering and documentation experience (BRD, FRD, User Stories, Functional Specs).
• Experience with payment investigations, reconciliation, exceptions, sanctions screening, and payment tracking.
• Good understanding of end-to-end payment lifecycle and payment processing workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Exposure to Core Banking systems and API integrations.
