- Bridge Design:Design and analyze bridge structures using engineering software and principles
- Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Structural Analysis:Conduct structural analysis and evaluations of existing bridges
- Assess the load-carrying capacity and performance of bridge components
- Code Compliance:Ensure designs and assessments comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations
- Stay updated on changes in industry codes and implement them in design processes
- Project Management:Manage and coordinate bridge engineering projects from conception to completion
- Collaborate with project teams, including architects, drafters, and other engineers
- Inspections and Assessments:Conduct field inspections to assess the condition of existing bridges
- Identify and evaluate structural deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Technical Documentation:Prepare comprehensive technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
- Client Interaction:Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and expectations
- Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to clients
- Quality Assurance:Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of engineering designs
- Review and check the work of junior engineers and drafters
