Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Work with a modular monolith architecture comprising shared platform services, workflow logic, and domain-specific modules
- Build and support REST APIs with strong validation, security, and exception-handling patterns
- Work closely with data and persistence layers using PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, and Liquibase
- Support application deployment and runtime operations in Docker and Kubernetes environments
- Collaborate on Kubernetes fundamentals including Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, scaling, and troubleshooting
- Monitor application health, logs, and operational issues to improve platform reliability
- Contribute to dependency hygiene, SBOM generation, and vulnerability awareness as part of secure software delivery
- Partner with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to improve release quality and operational resilience
- Help maintain clean architecture boundaries, documentation, and engineering best practices
Required Skills
- 25 years of hands-on backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Familiarity with Gradle-based multi-module projects
- Exposure to Docker and containerized application workflows
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts and troubleshooting
- Awareness of software supply chain principles, including SBOM, dependency management, and vulnerability scanning
- Strong debugging and problem-solving mindset
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger
- Knowledge of Liquibase or Flyway
- CI/CD exposure
- Familiarity with Helm or Kubernetes manifests
- Understanding of SBOM standards such as CycloneDX or SPDX
- Experience in production support or cloud-native engineering
- Exposure to security scanning and remediation workflows
