Azure Functions Developer

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Azure Functions Developer (Python) with Azure API Management (APIM) to design, develop, and maintain serverless applications and APIs on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing Azure Functions using Python, managing APIs through Azure API Management (APIM), and integrating Azure services with external applications. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, developing REST APIs, and working closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Azure Functions using Python to support business applications and services.
• Configure, manage, and maintain Azure API Management (APIM), including APIs, policies, security, versioning, and access controls.
• Design, develop, and enhance RESTful APIs for internal and external applications.
• Integrate Azure Functions with Azure services such as Storage, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, and third-party applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure Functions, APIM, API integrations, and cloud deployments.
• Monitor application performance and optimize Azure resources for reliability and scalability.
• Develop and support frontend integrations using JavaScript and jQuery where required.
• Analyze technical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions within project timelines.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, QA, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards and best practices are followed.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security practices for APIs and Azure services.
• Support deployment activities and monitor applications across development, testing, and production environments.
• Prepare technical documentation for APIs, integrations, and deployment processes.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Stay updated with Azure platform enhancements and recommend improvements where applicable.

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development using Python.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Functions.
• Experience with Azure API Management (APIM), including API creation, policies, security, and versioning.
• Good understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience integrating Azure services with third-party applications and APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services and serverless architecture.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging cloud-based applications.
• Knowledge of API authentication methods such as OAuth, JWT, and API Keys.
• Experience with JavaScript and jQuery for frontend integration.
• Familiarity with source code management tools such as Git.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Azure Storage, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, and Application Insights.
• Experience working with Docker or container-based deployments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates, Bicep, or Terraform).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools in Azure.
• Experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL Database.
• Understanding of cloud security best practices and Azure identity management.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven applications.
• Microsoft Azure certifications are an added advantage.
