Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Cloud Migration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Automation, CI/CD, and Hybrid Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, migrating, automating, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale Azure cloud solutions while ensuring security, scalability, governance, availability, and operational excellence.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with Azure Infrastructure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, Linux administration, Ansible, scripting, and cloud migration projects.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Migration

• Lead end-to-end Azure VM and infrastructure migration activities from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Azure.
• Perform dependency assessment, sizing, migration planning, execution, and post-migration validation

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure components including:
• Azure Virtual Machines
• Virtual Networks (VNet)
• Network Security Groups (NSGs)
• Load Balancers
• Azure Storage
• Availability Sets/Zones
• Azure Backup
• Recovery Services Vault
• Support hybrid cloud connectivity using:
• VPN Gateway
• ExpressRoute
• DNS Integration
• Identity Integration
• Ensure Azure environments follow best practices for security, availability, scalability, and governance.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for Azure infrastructure provisioning.
• Manage Terraform state files, remote backends, locking mechanisms, and environment segregation.
• Implement infrastructure standards, tagging policies, governance controls, and automation frameworks.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning across development, testing, and production environments.
• Integrate Terraform deployments with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

Azure DevOps & CI/CD Automation

• Design, build, and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Implement CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Manage build pipelines, release pipelines, approvals, environments, and service connections.
• Implement deployment governance, rollback strategies, and change management processes.
• Integrate Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation scripts into deployment workflows.
• Improve deployment efficiency through standardization and automation.

Configuration Management & Scripting

• Develop automation scripts using:
• PowerShell
• Azure CLI
• Bash scripting
• Create and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventories.
• Implement automated configuration management with error handling and logging.

• Automate operational tasks to improve reliability and efficiency.

Linux Administration

• Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based Azure Virtual Machines.
• Perform:
• OS patching
• Performance tuning
• Service troubleshooting
• User and permission management
• VM provisioning
• Basic security hardening
• Support infrastructure monitoring and operational troubleshooting.

Monitoring, Operations & Support

• Configure and manage Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and dashboards.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Monitor CI/CD pipeline health and deployment performance.
• Maintain technical documentation, HLDs, runbooks, and implementation procedures.

Version Control & Collaboration

• Follow Git best practices including:
• Branching strategies
• Pull requests
• Code reviews
• Repository management
• Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Application, Infrastructure, and Platform teams.

• Drive automation-first practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Infrastructure.
• Experience in Azure migration and cloud transformation projects.
• Strong Terraform experience with reusable modules and environment management.
• Experience with Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Expertise in Linux administration.
• Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Bash.
• Experience with Ansible automation and configuration management.
• Experience with Azure monitoring and logging solutions.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, automation, and release management.

Preferred Skills

• Azure Certifications:
• AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate)
• AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
• AZ-400 (Azure DevOps Engineer Expert)
• Experience with enterprise cloud governance and security controls.
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and high availability architecture.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 610 years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
