Job Description
Monitor Azure infrastructure (VMs, storage, network) using Azure Monitor, SolarWinds
- Acknowledge and respond to alerts and incidents- Manage VM tasks such as start/stop/restart, resizing, and performance monitoring
- Troubleshoot VM issues like RDP/SSH failures, agent errors, or high resource usage
- Monitor Azure Backup jobs and Recovery Services Vaults
- Initiate manual backups and perform VM-level restores
- Report backup failures and resolve persistent issues
- Verify NSG rules and troubleshoot inbound/outbound VM access issues
- Validate VNet/subnet associations and peering status
- Check DNS configurations, perform basic name resolution tests
- Use of Network Watcher tools (IP Flow Verify, Connection Troubleshoot, Effective NSG, Next Hop)
- Review Microsoft Defender for Cloud security recommendations
- Execute pre-approved PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Azure Automation Runbooks
- Prepare standard Azure cost report- Identify unused resources like unattached disks, idle public IPs, and unused NICs and perform cleanup actions
- Maintain accurate ticket notes, shift handover documents, and SOP updates
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and backup restore validation
- Check replication health for ASR (Azure Site Recovery)
- Change Problem Management- Implement approved change request- Support root cause analysis by providing logs and insights
- Comply with CAB (Change Advisory Board) processes
- Provide timely updates during incident calls and bridge meetings
- Communicate clearly with end users and stakeholders.- Willing to learn technologies and methodologies to better support the product
- Coach and mentor other team members as needed - Ready to work 24/7 shifts.
