Automation QA - Backend

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for backend applications and APIs.
• Perform API testing and automation using Rest Assured, HTTP Client, and REST/Web Services.
• Validate backend functionality through database testing and data verification.
• Write and execute SQL queries, including joins, to verify application data integrity.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
• Identify, log, track, and verify defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of automation frameworks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Skills

• 1 3 years of experience in Automation Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java for test automation.
• Experience with TestNG, Maven, Rest Assured, HTTP Client, and REST/Web Services testing.
• Good understanding of API Testing and backend validation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries, including joins and complex data validations.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python is an added advantage.
• Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git).
• Basic understanding of Selenium or Appium.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to backend technologies and microservices architecture is a plus.
